Sid Gopinath is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker, musician, and photographer.
He is in production on his feature directing debut, MINNESOTA GOODBYE, after winning the $1.2m AT&T x Tribeca Untold Stories grant. Minnesota Goodbye will premiere at the 2027 Tribeca Film Festival.
In TV, he co-wrote and sold SHIKAAR, a horror thriller TV show set in colonial India, to FX. Sid was also a writer on Seasons 1 and 2 of the Amazon show WE WERE LIARS.
Sid is a 2026 Sloan x SFFILM Stories of Science Grantee, 2025 WGAE & Filmnation New York Screenwriting Fellow, 2025 Stio x 5Point Short Film Challenge Winner, 2024 Signpost Fellow, and Rideback RISE Circle Member.
He has been an artist in residence at Marble House Project (2026), Ucross (2025), and Tofte Lake Center (2024 Birch Felllow). As the son of Indian immigrants, Sid tells stories about memory, belonging, and defragmentation.
